It is important that courses are set up correctly from the start and that there is a fail-safe procedure ensuring clients are not issued a qualification, if the (Training Package) Packaging Rule hasn't been met
PowerPro's Qualification Rules are used to determine if the client meets the training package rule

Let's begin by setting up a Qualification Rule

Navigate to the 'Home Menu' and then to the 'Qualification Rules

Click on 'NEW' to create a rule
Enter each field with details as per the Qualification (all fields in red are mandatory)
* make the rule name brief in description, but with as much detail as possible (as pictured below) to distinguish between rules
There may be instances where multiple qualification rules exist for the same national code, as there might be variations such as training location, groups etc

The following fields in black are not mandatory, but may be used if required:

Stream (AVETMISS) - Qualification is specialising in a particular area and or the program name does not fit all in the Qualification name
This will be included in the reporting

Language- if delivered in something other than English

Stream (on Certificates) - Qualification is specialising in a particular area and or the program name does not fit all in the Qualification name and needs to be printed on the Certificate

Transition Date - 12 Months from the replacement training product is released no new enrolments can be accepted into a superseded qualification

Teach out Date -  Period when continuing clients need to be finalised

Once the Main tab area is complete click on the AVETMISS tab, and proceed to set fields it is likely that the full qualification is a 11 - Nationally accredited qualification specified in training package
Once this option is selected you will notice the field below switch off from being mandatory
Select the appropriate recognition status - note that 14 & 16 require all 4 as mandatory fields and when the AVETMISS area is completed click save

Now to add units to the rule, each qualification has Core and Elective units:

First double click on the Core group
This is a new rule so there will be no units listed, click to Add Units as below
If you have the units in the system they will appear for you to select and add to rule, otherwise click on import units

Units will then appear in the lower section of the screen as "Units to add to the Qualification Rule" then click OK
A Preview window will appear listing the Core units for this rule, click close
Now double click on the Elective group. Follow the same procedure of clicking on the "Add Units" button
Select units that appear from list or import any units not currently in PowerPro and add to this Qual Rule group
Click ok to exit

Now the preview window displays the units selected for the Elective group
The Elective group can have as many units as required, as this group has a Minimum required to be set before you are able to close

You are now ready to create a Full Qualification Master Course and attach units using the qualifications rule units
