Firstly let's check the error message received - this can usually point you in the right direction of where the issue lies
If your error message looks like the two below examples:
This points to an issue with your stored M2M key or the settings within PowerPro
Your M2M key is your machine authority key created from the RAM website: https://authorisationmanager.gov.au/#/login which is required for PowerPro to communicate with the USI portal
*Please note PowerPro does not hold any responsibility for accessing or using the RAM portal and the authorised person will need to access the RAM website
Your USI settings in PowerPro found under 'Configuration > Application Options > USI' has a device alias and a device password, these need to match what was configured during the M2M key setup in the RAM portal - changes to these settings can stop your M2M key from working
Your M2M key will be either stored locally on your computer (with multiple users typically on shared drive) or if you're PowerPro SKY client it will be within your Template Manager
Local Users can check to make sure they're still connected to the shared drive or folder if access to this is lost then access to the M2M key is unavailable and USI functions within PowerPro will not work
SKY Users can check to make sure the M2M key is still where it should be (don't let your I.T. team touch it!) by going into 'Template Manager > M2M > Actions > Open Editing Folder' see below screenshot for clarification
This is what the M2M key should look like in your folder
If all looks fine here have the authorised person with access to the RAM portal login to check if any of the details of the business associated with the credential (or its creator) have changed, this may cause the key to become revoked (you should be able to check the credential status in RAM)
If you get an exception log when trying to verify or find a USI and can see the words "<title>USI Portal - Unavailable</title>" this usually points to a USI outage which you can check here: https://www.usi.gov.au/help/system-outages please note that they can be slow to update these listings so sometimes there will be an outage that is not yet listed
Lastly, your M2M key may have expired and requires renewal
Machine credentials expire 2 years from the date of creation
The machine credential custodian (person who created or claimed the machine credential) is notified at 60, 30 and 7 days prior to expiry
Notifications are sent to the custodians current business email address as listed in RAM
You can actually check your M2M key expiry from the PowerPro USI window
We have fairly comprehensive instructions for renewing the M2M key available here: https://powerpro.groovehq.com/help/renewing-a-m2m-credential
